Write the Story Your Body’s Been Holding

What if writing your story could set you free?

You’ve survived things you’ve never fully spoken.
Your body remembers, even when your mind forgets.
Your stories still live in your ribcage, your throat, your belly.

You’re ready to be vivid, voiced, and visible

Imagine:

  • A writing practice that heals instead of harms

  • A body that becomes your most trusted creative ally

  • Ancient stories that reveal the hidden patterns in your own

  • A community that sees your story as sacred, not self-indulgent

A draft of your memoir you never thought possible

You’ve tried before, but something always stops you

You’ve journaled. Written alone. Taken memoir classes. Sat in front of the blank page, again and again.

But the truth is:

  • Writing your life stories can feel overwhelming

  • Your nervous system gets flooded and you freeze or bolt

  • You forget the details, or get stuck in loops

  • You worry it’s self-indulgent. Too messy. Too late.

But you’re not the problem. You’re just missing the right kind of support.

Introducing

The Art of Personal Mythmaking

A live, 6-month journey into embodied memoir-writing.

Where your story becomes a map.
Your body, a compass.

And ancient tales — the kind that echo across cultures and generations — offer you a mirror and a mythic thread.

This is not your average writing course.

It’s a creative, somatic, and soulful reweaving of your life through story.

Without forcing the words.

Without bypassing the pain.

Without needing to have it all figured out.

Early bird pricing ends October 8th, spots are limited spots.

If your chest just loosened…

If your eyes welled up just a little…
If your body whispered yes even while your mind still questioned how
Trust that.

This is your invitation to begin.
We start October 28th.

This isn’t just about writing

It’s about remembering who you are

to discover how this timeless fairy tale can unlock your life stories

The Art of Personal Mythmaking is a trauma-skilled, body-centric, myth-inspired approach to memoir writing.

It’s designed for the parts of you that:

  • Long to feel creatively alive again

  • Need a kind and structured space to tell the truth

  • Crave stories that don’t gaslight your grief, your rage, or your brilliance

You’ll work with your life stories and your nervous system — not against them.

You’ll uncover the themes, patterns, and mythic arcs that have shaped your path and reshape them, with care.

And you’ll finish with:

  • A powerful first draft of your memoir (or collection of life stories)

  • A body that feels more like home

  • A deeper trust in your creative rhythm

  • A mythic map of your life so far, and where you’re heading next

  • A remarkable collection of your new favourite people (from your writing circle)

This isn’t a craft-of-writing course.

It’s a course for writing your truth.

We don’t workshop stories. We don’t give line edits or critique.

Not because your writing doesn’t matter — but because your voice does.

In The Art of Personal Mythmaking, we focus on healing through storytelling, not perfection, performance, or publishing.

You’ll be invited to write boldly, messily, tenderly, and to share without needing to defend or polish.

This is about finding the thread. Writing your way back to wholeness.

Drawing your first draft down from your body, from memory and into myth and onto the page.

And then? Yes, then it’s time for revision, critique, and refinement. But not before.

First we need to unlock your story.

This program is for you if…

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

You’re drawn to story, depth, and inner transformation

  • You’ve lived through things that shaped you, and you’re ready to integrate them

  • You’re a creative, healer, writer, or seeker who wants to craft something meaningful, lasting, and true

  • You want skilled somatic writing support, the kind you can trust

  • You want writing to feel like coming home, not a battleground

What students are saying:

“I didn’t think I had much to say. My writing didn’t feel good enough. But something unexpected happened.

With Janelle’s guidance and the group’s support, I began to step out from the invisible wall I had built to survive all those years in New York. The more I had tried to pretend to be like others, the bigger the hole inside me had grown.

In this class, for the first time, I started to open up the truth I had hidden away. I shared my story, and people listened. Slowly, I gained a power I never knew I had.

Janelle’s class set me free. She showed me that writing isn’t about perfect words, it’s about expressing real thoughts and feelings.

Her body-based prompts helped me move beyond ego and into raw, authentic sensations. That was the greatest gift of all: realizing that my writing could come from the truest part of myself.

What I gained was much bigger than writing a book. It was about waking up the giant inside me.”

~ Min K. ~

“This class helped me open up in therapy after years of silence. I finally waded into stories I’d always avoided. It felt like unlocking something I didn’t know I was ready for—but I was.”

~ Anonymous, USA ~

““It was experiential, embodied, deepening, without being overwhelming. I finally understood how to listen to my body as I wrote. And the support was amazing.”

~ Grace Q. ~

“Before this class, I felt resigned to carry my pain forever. This course offered a safe, creative way to reframe my stories. I felt heard and held. It was the nicest gift I ever gave myself.”

~ Jess Molnar, Odd Duck Press ~

What’s included in the 6-month journey

A private online community for support, connection, and shared ritual. Includes lifetime access to monthly live group coaching calls.

Access to 5+ years of course call recordings and body-based writing prompts — a rich library to deepen your practice and inspire your writing and healing process.

🌿 What We’ll Cover in the 6-Month Journey 🌿

The Art of Personal Mythmaking is divided into 4 phases and 13 modules. Each one offers a structured, trauma-skilled and myth-inspired container for writing your life story — layer by layer, memory by memory, breath by breath.

Every module includes:

  • A central life theme and mythic tale

  • Gentle body-based techniques and prompts to awaken sensation and memory

  • Writing prompts that bypass resistance and stir marvel, truth and story

  • Audio pep talks and guides to go deeper

This is where story becomes healing, and your life begins to make new sense.

Phase 1: The Bones of Your Life Stories

1. Mapping Your Life Story

In this module, we explore the shape of your life so far — so that you can find the thread that runs through it.

You’ll create a timeline of pivotal moments, then choose a fairy tale or myth that’s always stuck with you. That tale becomes your mirror.

As you trace the echoes between its plot and your own life, you’ll start seeing your experiences not as random or broken, but mythic, meaningful, and whole. It’s a deeply embodied process — rooting your story in both imagination and truth.

2. The Stories (Lies) We Tell Ourselves

In this module, we explore the false myths you’ve absorbed — so that you can remember who you were before the world told you who to be.

This is for the silenced self, the inner teenager, the ragey truth-teller who’s been kept quiet too long. With tenderness and fire, we begin to write into the raw, necessary truths that have waited patiently beneath the surface.

3. Ancestors, Lineage & Family Mythology

In this module, we explore the tangle of your lineage — so that you can honour the gifts, reckon with the burdens, and name what is yours to carry forward.

You’ll write into the silences, secrets, migrations, and myths that shaped your early life. This isn’t about blame. It’s about reclamation. What power have you inherited? What grief? What gold? We let it speak.

Phase 2: The Connective Tissue of Your Life Stories

4. Food & Culture

In this module, we explore the sensual and symbolic language of nourishment — so that you can unearth how food, ritual, and cultural rhythms have shaped your identity.

Whether your memories are laced with warmth or deprivation, food holds stories. We write into hunger, taste, and memory. Into shame and celebration. Into what you were fed — and what you still long for.

5. Place & Space

In this module, we explore your relationship with land, geography, and belonging — so that you can trace the imprint of place on your sense of self.

Whether rooted or displaced, exiled or at home, your story has always been shaped by soil, seasons, and weather. We write into exile and return. Into the wild, the urban, the in-between.

6. Body Stories

In this module, we explore the body as archive — so that you can remember what’s been held in your skin, bones, and breath.

For so many, this is where the floodgates open. We honour shame, silence, and resilience. We write with the hips. The throat. The pulse. Not to fix, but to feel. To come home.

Phase 3: The Nervous & Circulatory Systems of Your Life Stories

7. Fury, Envy & Judgment

In this module, we explore your shadow emotions — so that you can reclaim their power and write from the heat of your truth.

These are not shameful — they are signals. We honour the anger you were never allowed to show. The comparisons that gnawed at your creativity. The judgments that shaped your inner world. This is where stories get teeth.

8. Idols, Heroes & Goddesses

In this module, we explore the figures you’ve revered — so that you can recognise what they mirror and spark in you. Who shaped your ideals? Who gave you hope?

We write into longing and projection, discovering how your chosen icons and guides can point you toward your own mythic becoming.

9. Ideas of Beauty & Attractiveness

In this module, we explore cultural scripts around beauty, worth, and desirability — so that you can untangle who you’ve been told to be from who you truly are.

This is tender work. It’s where we write toward self-recognition, especially for those who’ve felt invisible, too much, or never enough. The mirror becomes a place of poetry, not punishment.

Phase 4: The Organs of Your Life Stories

This final phase supports integration and celebration.

Like the organs in your body, these modules process your experiences into energy and meaning. You’ve done deep excavation — now we metabolize the medicine and emerge whole, with a story worth sharing.

10. Villains

In this module, we explore the nemeses in your life — so that you can write from truth, not vengeance. Whether they wore human faces or arrived as addiction, betrayal, or shame, we turn toward the shadow with curiosity and creative power.

11. Language & the Senses

In this module, we explore the tastes, sounds, and expressive gestures that shaped you — so that you can write with full-bodied presence. From your mother tongue to the scent of childhood, we work with the language beneath language.

12. Longing & Expectations — A Love Letter to Self

In this module, we explore your unmet hopes and persistent desires — so that you can write toward what still calls to you. You’ll gather your themes and threads, and begin to shape the myth only you can tell.

13. Celebrating the Storyteller/Writer Within

In this final module, we explore the transformation you’ve undergone — so that you can honour your voice, your story, and your return. Whether shared aloud or held close, your story becomes a threshold into what’s next.

About Your Guide

Hi there! I’m Janelle.

Hi! I’m Janelle Hardy. I’m a writer, artist, and hands-on healing arts practitioner with over 17 years of experience in structural integration, somatic experiencing and more. But more than that, I’m someone who knows what it feels like to be silenced by story, frozen by memory, and uncertain how to begin.

I created The Art of Personal Mythmaking to be the course I needed — and couldn’t find. A place where the deep work of healing meets the creative spark of writing and the guidance of story. A space where your stories are not just allowed, but honoured.

I know what it’s like to wonder if your story matters. To feel too messy, too much, or too late. It doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re ready.

You don’t have to do this alone. I’ll be with you every step of the way.

My Promise to You

This program is not a magic fix — but it is a powerful container.

You’ll leave with:

• A memoir in progress — shaped with depth, structure, and soul
• A deeper sense of your own resilience and voice
• An ongoing and wise relationship with your favourite fairy tale or myth
• A sacred relationship to your body as your wisest collaborator

You bring your honest presence, I’ll bring my full-hearted skilfull support.

If you show up with devotion and care, you won’t walk away unchanged.

There’s no perfect time. But there is a right time.

And if you’ve read this far, something in you already knows it’s time.

This work is deep, it’s personal and it lasts.

Spots are limited, with no more than 12 participants in each writing circle for a connected, supportive experience.

This is not a mass-market, hustle-for-results kind of course. It’s a slow, sacred return to voice and body. It’s craft and care. It’s myth and memory. It’s connected, relational process.

You’ll leave with more than just a manuscript.

You’ll leave with yourself.

You’re ready to reclaim your voice, reshape your life story, and feel deeply, vividly, alive in your own skin.

Before - where you are now

You feel scattered, silent, and unsure where to begin.

You carry memories that ache, but won’t form into words.

You wonder if your story is too messy, too late, or too much.

After - where you’ll be 6-months from now

You feel vivid, rooted, and alive.

You’ve mapped the shape of your life with myth as your guide.

You’ve written stories that once felt unspeakable — and survived the telling.

Your voice is no longer a whisper.
It’s a pulse. It’s truth on the page.
And it’s yours.

We begin October 28th.
